Blydenburgh Named ECAC, Skyline Pitcher of the Week

Patchogue, NY| Senior Ashley Blydenburgh of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) softball team collected Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC) Metro Region and Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday following a 2-0 weekend.

In two starts, Blydenburgh retired 13 batters and posted a 0.58 earned-run average. In a 3-1 victory over Farmingdale on Saturday, Blydenburgh struck out six batters in a complete-game effort. The Middle Island, NY native followed the performance up with a seven-strikeout outing in a 13-2 win over Yeshiva on Sunday.

Before play on Tuesday, Blydenburgh, a two-time Skyline Pitcher of the Week and first-time ECAC honoree this season, ranked sixth in the conference in strikeouts (49) and seventh in earn-run average (2.52).

The Golden Eagles (10-0 Skyline) visit Mount Saint Mary College (12-0) in a battle of the Skyline Conference's last two undefeated teams in Newburgh, NY on Tuesday afternoon.
