Track and Field Competes at Yale Collegiate Invitational

New Haven, CT| The St. Joseph's College track and field team competed in the 36th Annual Yale Collegiate Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Brandon Linbrunner lead the men's side with a ninth place finish out of 34 runners in the 200-meter run with a time of 23.55.  Freshman Brandon Phan recorded a time a 24.33 good for a 19th place finish.

Sophomore Anthony Figorito finished eighth out of 22 in the 400-meter race coming in at 53.16 and freshman Thomas Newman turned in a time of 2:05.15 in the 800-meter run for a sixth place finish.

Senior thrower Alex Baker recorded an 11.62 meter weight throw good for a seventh place finish as well as a 10.06 meter shot put to round out the top ten.

On the women's side, junior Jennifer Holownia posted a time of 27.55 in the 200-meter race for a ninth place finish our of 35 runners with sophomore Briana Shand coming in with a time of 27.96 for a 14th finish.

Freshman Marlee Lopez and senior Amanda Sprague came in sixth (2:36.54) and seventh (2:40.38) respectively in the 800-meter.  Senior Erin MacDonell finished fifth out of 15 runners in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:05.12.  

The Golden Eagles return to action as they compete at the Ramapo College Invitational on Friday, January 19th.
