Indoor Track and Field Races at Ramapo College Season Opener

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College men's and women's indoor track and field teams participated in the Ramapo College Season Opener at the Armory Track and Field Center on Friday.

Brandon Linbrunner turned in a 14th place finish in the 200-meter race out of 57 runners with a time of 23.42.  The senior also recorded a time of 7.40 in his 60-meter preliminary race.  Sophomore Anthony Figorito placed 15th out of 43 in his 400-meter finals run with a time of 52.81.

Freshman Thomas Newham was the top Golden Eagle in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:06.06 with freshman Jeremey Anderson and Cristhofer Castro recording times of 2:14.60 and 2:18.30 respectively.

In the 3000-meter finals, sophomore Nick Deluca finished with a time of 9:51.42 and junior Daniel Antonawich turned in a time of 9.37 in the 60-hurdles.

The men's 4 x 400 relay team of Linbrunner, Antonawich, Brandon Phan and Figorito placed 13th out of 23 coming in at 3:35.08.

On the field, Phan recorded a long jump of 5.83 meters with senior Joseph Wetzel completing a 9.80-meter shot put.

On the women's side, Jennifer Holownia placed 19th out of 48 in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.73 before recording a 4.94m long jump on the field. Briana Shand came in just behind her teammate in the 200 at 22nd (27.82).  The sophomore also competed in the 60-meter race recording an 8.62 finish.

Freshman Meagan Havilan placed 8th overall in the 1000-meter finals (3:21.16) with teammate sophomore Stephanie Surrusco recording a time of 3:49.21.

Sophomore Jennifer O'Connor and senior Stacey Sinkoff had times of 6:24,91 and 7:21.48 respectively in the Mile finals.  Sophomore Karli Murphy came in at 11:56.98 in the 3000-meter race and senior Erin MacDonell was the second overall finisher in the 5000-meter run (19:17.75).

The Golden Eagles compete again Sunday, February 11th when they host the St. Joseph's Innovational at St. Anthony's High School.
