Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season at TCNJ Invitational

Ewing, NJ| The St. Joseph's College track and field team opened its outdoor season at the TCNJ Invitational Sunday afternoon.

For the men, senior Brandon Linbrunner turned in a time of 11.43 in the 100-meter dash with a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter race with a time of 23.00.

Sophomore Anthony Figorito placed 17th out of 40 in the 400-meter raced recording a time of 52.94. Freshman Thomas Newman competed in the 1500-meter run coming in with a time of 4:18.03. Junior Daniel Antonawich completed the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:00.89.

On the field, Brandon Phan placed fourth out of 14 with his best triple jump of 12.72 meters. The freshman also finished 12th in the long jump with a distance of 5.91 meters.

For the women, sophomore Briana Shand competed in the 100-meter dash and finished with a time of 13.71. Junior Jennifer Holownia recorded a time of 27.72 in the 200-meter dash as well as a 4.50-meter long jump.

Freshman Meagan Haviland and senior Erin Macdonell placed 12th and 16th, respectively, in the 1500-meter run with times of 5:16.59 and 5:20.24.

The Golden Eagles return to action at the Queensborough Relays on Saturday, April 14.
