Haviland, Holownia and Maitre Scoop up Skyline Track and Field Weeklys

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners were Jennifer Holownia, Megan Haviland and David Maitre of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) track and field teams. Holownia was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week while Haviland and Maitre earned Rookie of the Week for women's and men's track and field, respectively.

Additionally, Ashley Accardi (softball) and Kristin Carroll (women's lacrosse) appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls in their respective sports.

Jennifer Holownia (Jr.) – Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Holownia is Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row following her performances at the Queensborough Relays on Saturday. The junior set a school record and qualified for the ECAC Outdoor Championships with a 1:09.05 time in the 400 hurdles. Holownia was also the first leg of the first-place sprint medley relay team.

Megan Haviland (Fr.) – Women's Track and Field Rookie of the Week

Like Holownia, Haviland scoops up her second-straight Rookie of the Week accolade. At the Queensborough Relays she posted a season-best time of 5:14.26 and placed second in a field of 33 in the 1,500 meter run. The Sound Beach, NY native anchored the sprint medley relay team, which finished first.

David Maitre (Fr.) – Men's Track and Field Rookie of the Week

A Huntington, NY native, Maitre placed seventh in the 400 hurdles event at the Queensborough Relays with a time of 1:02.42. The freshman went on to take second place in the high jump with a 1.67 meter effort.

Ashley Accardi (So.) – Softball Weekly Honor Roll

In a 2-0 sweep of St. Joseph's (Brkln) in a Skyline Conference doubleheader on Saturday, Accardi hit .666 with a double and home run. In a 9-0 game-two victory, the first baseman went 2-for-3 with two runs and a solo homer. The Holtsville, NY native is currently hitting .378 and has drove in seven runs.

Kristin Carroll (Sr.) – Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll

In a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles, Carroll went for nine goals, 10 points, 10 ground balls and six draw controls. The midfielder tallied a career-best seven goals on 14 shots in a 17-6 win over Purchase on April 10 before going for two goals and an assist in a 19-9 victory over Mount St. Mary. Carroll is currently tied for the team lead in goals (28) and is second in points (39).
