Track and Field Competes at Wagner Invitational

Staten Island, NY| The St. Joseph's College track and field team competed in the Wagner College Invitational at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex this weekend.

On the men's side, senior Brandon Linbrunner finished 13th in the 200-meter with a time of 23.44. Three Golden Eagles competed in the 800-meter race with sophomore Jeremy Anderson collecting a 21st place finish with a time of 2:10.37. Just behind him in 22nd was freshman Dennis O'Rourke (2:11.16) and senior Daniel Antowawich (2:24.91).

O'Rouke and junior Nick DeLuca competed in the mile and finished with times of 4:46.83 and 4:47.45, respectively. DeLuca also raced in the 3000-meter and came in at 9:51.79. The men's 4x400 relay team of Linnbrunner, Antonawich, Anthony Figorito, and Brandon Phan finished with a time of 3:36.58.

For the women, Jennifer Holownia had a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter with a new school record of 1:01.61. The senior also led the 4x400 relay along with Meagan Haviland, Savannah McMaster and Marlee Lopez with a 4:34.60 finish. Stephanie Surrusco finished her 500-meter race with a time of 1:38.96. Sarah Dern and Victoria Quinones were just behind her at 1:45.47 and 1:57.79, respectively.

Marlee Lopez turned in a 2:40.70 finish in the 800-meter with Karli Murphy and Jennifer O'Connor following at 2:45.56 and 2:52.99. Haviland (5:37.73), Cassidy Jacobus (5:50.08) and Julia Boris (6:20.54) all competed in the mile and Sandra Vivar Marin had a 12.10.12 finish in the 3000-meter.

On the field, Phan finished in sixth place in the triple jump with a 12.71m mark and came in 11th in the long jump with a distance of 6.24m. For the women, Holownia turned in a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a 4.73m mark.

Rayneri Ruiz led a trio of the Golden Eagles in the shot put with a toss of 9.53m. Joseph Spataro and Ryan Haun finished with 6.73m and 6.08m marks, respectively. Caroline Zaczek came away with a distance of 6.70m.
