Track and Field Competes at Giegengack Invitational

New Haven, CT| The St. Joseph's College indoor track and field team competed at the 13th Annual Giegengack Invitational hosted by Yale University on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Meagan Haviland placed ninth out of 33 in the women's mile with a time of 5:32.32 and was joined by teammates Jennifer Holownia, Marlee Lopez and Karli Murphy in the 4 x 400 relay and finished eighth at 4:36.99.

The women's distance medley relay team of Cassidy Jacobus, Jennifer Holownia, Karli Murphy and Caleigh Capek placed third with a time of 14:00.03. Holownia competed in the 200-meter race and finished 10th out of 48 (27.32).

For the men, Brandon Linbrunner placed 12th out of 54 in the 200-meter finals with a time of 23.46. Finishing just behind him was teammate Brandon Phan at 23.84.

Nick DeLuca placed fifth in the 5000-meter raced at 17:11.85 and Dennis O'Rourke finished 10th out of 27 in the men's mile with a time of 4:39.92.

The 4 x 400 relay team of O'Rourke, Phan, Linbrunner and Daniel Antonawich took third coming in at 3:37.50.

The Golden Eagles will compete in the NJAC Indoor Championships at the Ocean Breeze Park Track and Field Complex on Staten Island on Monday, February 18.
