Track and Field Participates in NJAC Indoor Championships

Staten Island, NY| The St. Joseph's College track and field teams competed at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY.

Overall, the women's team placed ninth with seven total points with the men coming in tenth with four points.

Senior Jennifer Holownia competed in the 200-meter and came in with a time of 27.50 before placing ninth in the 400-meter at 1:02.08.

Sophomore Cassidy Jacobus finished 10th in the 800-meter race posting a time of 2:32.96 with teammates Marlee Lopez and Sarah Dern just behind her at 2:34.46 and 2:57.27, respectively.

Meagan Haviland placed ninth in the mile with a time of 5:31.45. Julia Boris and Karli Murphy finished 12th (6:17.66) and 16th (6:36.44).

The 4x200 relay team of Savannah McMaster, Lemonia Strumbos, Caroline ZacZec, and Holownia finished with a time of 1:54.03. The 4x800 team of Jacobus, Murphy, Lopez, and Haviland came in fifth with a time of 10:48.52.

For the men, Jeremy Anderson finished 16th in the 800-meter with a time of 2:09.37 and Dennis O'Rourke came in 10th in the mile with a time of 4:44.72.

Brandon Linbrunner and Anthony Figorito competed in the 200-meter finishing with times of 23.49 and 24.53, respectively.

Figorito, Daniel AntonawichBrandon Phan and Linbrunner raced the 4x200 and 4x400 relays finishing sixth (1:35.68) and eighth (3:43.00).

On the field, Phan came in ninth in the long jump with a 6.22-meter mark. In the shot put, Rayneri Ruiz finished with a distance of 9.43-meters with Joseph Spataro at 7.94-meters. ZacZek recorded a distance of 6.15-meters in the women's shot put.

The Golden Eagles will close out the indoor season at the ECAC Championships March 1-2.
