Track and Field Finishes Fourth at Skyline Outdoor Championships

Farmingdale, NY| The St. Joseph's College outdoor track and field team placed fourth in both the men's and women's Skyline Conference Track and Field Championships over the weekend.

The women came away with a team total of 40.5 while the men posted a score of 33.

On the men's side, Daniel Antonawich took home a first-place finish with a time of 59.55 in the 400-hurdles earning him first-team All-Conference honors. The senior also competed in the 110-hurdles and finished fifth with a time of 18.25.

Sophomore Jeremy Anderson recorded a sixth-place finish (2:06.07) in the 800m with freshman Dennis O'Rourke also coming in sixth in the 1500m (4:23.89).

Senior Nick DeLuca and O'Rourke finished fifth and sixth, respectively, with times of 16:59.81 and 17:00.03. DeLuca also competed in the 3000-steeplechase coming in fourth (10:38.70) out off 11.

On the field, sophomore Brandon Phan finished seventh of 12 in the long jump with a distance of 5.62m. He finished sixth in the triple jump at 11.41m. Junior Rayneri Ruiz placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 10.40m and Joseph Spataro came in 13th at 8.63m.

For the women, Jennifer Holownia led the way coming in first in the 400-hurdles earning first-team All-Conference honors with a time of 1:10.00. The senior also placed second in the 400-meter coming in at 1:04.02 to pick up second-team honors.

Caroline ZacZek finished fourth in the 100-meter with a time of 13.79 with Savannah McMaster coming in just behind her in sixth at 14.25. The duo also competed in the 200-meter finishing eighth and 11th, respectively.

Sophomore Meagan Haviland placed third in the 800-meter (2:35.59) and also garnered second-team honors with a 5:09.94 finish in the 1500-meter.

The Golden Eagles compete at the NJAC Championships at Stockton University on Saturday, May 4.
