Track and Field Participates at TCNJ Lion Invitational

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) track & field team competed at the TCNJ Lion Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey at the NYC Armory on Saturday.

On the women's side, sophomore Savannah McMaster took fourth place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.62. Finishing just behind her was junior Caroline ZacZek with a personal best finish of 8.71 to place sixth.

Junior Meagan Haviland took seventh in the 800-meter with a personal best 2:27.81 and seniors Stephanie Surrusco and Victoria Quinones came in with times of 3:03.25 and 3:22.74, respectively.

Freshman Emily Venturi (5:59.36), sophomore Caleigh Capek (6:13.89), and junior Nadine Keefer (6:26.59) competed in the mile run.

For the men, junior Jeremy Anderson finished in sixth out of 14 in the 500-meter after posting a time of 1:10.43. Freshman Chris Newham crossed the line at 1:17.82.

Freshman Matt Lopez finished 15th in the 800-meter with a personal best of 2:02.80 and freshman James Malone came in at 2:28.15.

Freshmen Patrick Wuss and Anthony Hristidis turned in their personal best mile times of 4:57.16 and 5:12.95, respectively.

The Golden Eagles return to action Friday, January 17 when they travel to NYU Gotham Cup at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Complex.
