Patchogue, N.Y. – The Lady Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College (9-5, 3-1 SKY) made easy work of the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (4-8, 0-5 SKY) Saturday evening in a Skyline Conference game at the Danzi Center, 73-44.
SJC's junior forward Danielle Hamlin (Centereach, N.Y./Centereach) led all scorers with 21 points, including five three-point field goals, and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Junior guard Laura Cohen (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) put in 20 for the Eagles along with five assists in a contest that was never in doubt following the first few minutes of the game.
St. Joseph's took a commanding 42-16 lead into the halftime break.
Also in double-figures for the home team was senior forward Amanda Bender (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) with 16 points and junior guard Christina Cohen (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown) with 14 points to go along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Up next for the second place Eagles is Farmingdale State (4-6, 2-1 SKY) who sit right behind St. Joseph's in third. The game is part of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Danzi Center.
