Rams Batter Eagles to Pull Even in Second Place

Patchogue, N.Y – St. Joseph's College (9-7, 3-2 SKY) fell to the Farmingdale State Rams (5-7, 3-2), 49-35 in a Skyline Conference game Wednesday evening at the Danzi Center.  In what was mostly an offensive struggle for both teams, Nicky Young of the Rams led all scorers with 15 points in addition to 10 rebounds.

Both teams shot poorly for the game with the Eagles at only 19.6%, while the Rams countered with 24.6% from the field.  The score at the end of the first half stood at 25-13 with Farmingdale in the lead. 

Danielle Hamlin led the Golden Eagles with 11 points as the only SJC player to reach double-digits.  Amanda Bender pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.

In addition to Young's 15, Farmingdale had three others reach double figures – Siohban Purvis with 12, and Lushanta Savadel and Nikita Green each contributing 10 points.  Savadel also pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.

Up next for St. Joseph's is another Skyline Conference game against Old Westbury (7-6, 3-2 SKY) on Saturday at 3 p.m.
