ECAC Announces Division III Metro Women's Basketball All-Star Awards

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Five City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) women's basketball players were named to the 2012-13 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Women's Basketball All-Star teams, highlighted by Baruch College's Jessica Duleba, ECAC Player of the Year announced by ECAC Interim Commissioner Steve Bamford.  Duleba is joined by New York University's freshman forward Megan Dawe, the ECAC Rookie of the Year. The duo was selected based on a vote of regional coaches, or their respective designee, as major award winners.

Duleba, a senior standout guard for Baruch, was named CUNYAC Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row. She averaged 15.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while leading the Bearcats to the CUNYAC Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament. This season, Baruch was nationally ranked for the first time in program history and Duleba joined the 1,000 point club in January.

Dawe made an immediate impact for the NYU Violets during the 2012-13 campaign. In 25 games, she averaged 12.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. From the field, she shot 52.2%, the highest ever by a NYU freshman. In the UAA, Dawe is second in field goal percentage (52.2%), fifth in scoring (321) and eighth in rebounding (163). She is the first ever Violet to earn the UAA Rookie of the Year accolade.
