Patchogue, N.Y. — The Golden Eagles (1-3) had a rough time on Tuesday night, falling to the NYU Violets (4-0), 85-40.
While the Eagles never earned the lead, they certainly made NYU work for the first ten minutes of the game, as the score was 11-10 at 14:22. By halftime however, the visiting team was up twenty points; that lead that doubled by the end of the game.
Michelle Lupoli (Massapequa, N.Y./ Massapequa) finished with ten points; Jackie Zizzo (Bethpage, N.Y./ Bethpage) finished with nine points, two steals and two rebounds. Katie McGarrel (Selden, N.Y./ Newfield) led the team in rebounds with nine.
The Golden Eagles will have a ten-day layoff and then host the College of New Rochelle in another non-conference game at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 5.
