Women’s Basketball Picked Eighth in Skyline Preseason Poll

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team finished eighth in the Skyline Conference Coaches' Preseason Poll, which was released on the conference website on Tuesday afternoon

In her first-year at the helm, head coach Kelley Watts looks to turn-around program that earned a 6-18 mark in the 2014-15 campaign. The veteran coach leads a side that returns nine players, including All-Skyline Second-Team selection Andrea Iavarone

Farmingdale, the Skyline Conference Championship runner-up, was chosen to finish first, collecting 62 points and six first-place votes. The 2014-15 Skyline Conference Championship winner Mount Saint Vincent (two first-place votes, 55 points) were slotted to finish second. Rounding out the first-place-vote recipients is The Sage Colleges, which garnered one 1st-place and a total of 49 points.

St. Joseph's kicks off its season on Saturday, November 14, when they travel to Staten Island, NY to face The College of Staten Island at 2:00 PM. The Golden Eagles open their Skyline Conference campaign at home against St. Joseph's College (Brkln) on Tuesday, December 8. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
