Iavarone Earns MBWA Honorable Mention Selection

New York, NY| Senior forward Andrea Iavarone collected her second weekly accolade in as many days on Tuesday afternoon when she was included in the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association's Women's Divisions II-III Honorable Mention. The Miller Place, NY native appeared on the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon.
Iavarone recorded her eighth double-double of the season (tied second in the nation) in SJC's 72-46 victory inside the Danzi Center on December 12. The forward led all players in both points (20) and rebounds (12) and appears on the MBWA's Honorable Mention for the sixth time in her career.
Now averaging 16.0 rebounds-per-game, Iavarone ranks first in the conference and fourth in the nation. Additionally, she is second in the conference in scoring (18.2 PPG).
Iavarone and the Golden Eagles resume play on Saturday, January 6 with a Skyline Conference contest at SUNY Old Westbury (12:00 pm). Live video and stats available here.
