Women's Basketball Rolls Past Sarah Lawrence

Patchogue, NY| Four Golden Eagles finished with double-doubles in an 85-29 Skyline Conference win over Sarah Lawrence College Tuesday night in the Danzi Center.

SJC picked up their third consecutive conference win to improve to 7-10 on the season (4-6 Skyline).  The Gryphons slide to 1-16 overall and 0-12 in Skyline action.

Senior Andrea Iavarone posted a game-high 27 points with 14 rebounds while adding three blocks and two steals.  Senior Jennifer Gubell knocked down 20 points and 13 boards with sophomore Juliana Cintron-Leonardo pitching in with 13 points and 14 rebounds.  Sophomore N'Dea Maddox finished with 10 points and 10 assists.

Taryn Penna led the Gryphons with 14 points and five rebounds.  Tess Carrier added nine points and five boards.

St. Joseph's took a 46-11 lead into the break before the Gryphons had their best showing of the game with a 12-point performance in the third frame. 

Ahead 67-23 heading into the final quarter, the Golden Eagles held Sarah Lawrence to just six points in the final ten minutes of play en route to their largest lead of the night (83-25) before cruising to an 85-29 win.

SJC outshot the Gryphons 40.0% to 20.7% while holding a 63 to 38 rebounding advantage.  The Golden Eagles finished 11-for-25 (44.0%) from long range with 38 points in the paint.

St. Joseph's continues conference play when they travel to the College of Mount St. Vincent Thursday, February 1.  Game time is slated for 5:30 pm.
