Women's Basketball Suffers Defeat at SJC-BK

Brooklyn, NY| The St. Joseph's College (LI) women's basketball team took a 70-49 loss on the road to the Bears of St. Joseph's College (BK) Tuesday evening.

The Golden Eagles move to 2-11 on the season with a 1-6 record in Skyline Conference play. The Bears improve to 9-4 overall, 6-2 Skyline.

Freshman Alyssa Signor recorded her second double-double of the season with a 19-point 10-rebound performance. Senior N'Dea Maddox knocked down 10 points with seven rebounds and sophomore Lindsey McKenna rounded out the top scorers with eight points and nine boards.

A trio of Bears finished in double figures with Caitlyn Staab recording a game-high 22 points with eight rebounds. Kelly O'Donnell had a double-double of 19 points and 19 boards with Victoria Porcasi pitching in with 10 points and a game-best six assists.

In a game in which the Bears never trailed, the home team shot 36.4% from the field while the visitors finished at 26.0%. SJC-BK outrebounded the Golden Eagles 64-49 with a 40-20 advantage in the paint.

St. Joseph's continues Skyline action when they host the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Thursday, January 10. Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
