Farmingdale Topples Women's Basketball

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's basketball team suffered a 69-58 defeat to Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State College inside the Danzi Center on Saturday afternoon.

The loss sends the Golden Eagles to 2-13 on the year and 1-8 in Skyline play as the Rams improve to 5-10 (5-5 Skyline).

Freshman Alyssa Signor and Farmingdale's Nia Miller each scored a game-best 23 points. Signor shot 3-for-8 from three, grabbed nine rebounds and dished out five assists.

Senior Alicia Indence went for 16 points and five assists, and junior Laura Falacara tallied a career-best seven points off the bench.

Farmingdale's Miller shot 10-for-24 from the field and was credited with a game-high six assists.

SJC trailed 33-19 at halftime and 51-31 at the end of the third quarter but outscored the Rams 27-18 in the fourth quarter before succumbing to a 69-58 defeat.

Despite being outshot from the field (36.6% to 28.1%), SJC was the better shooting side from beyond the arc and held a 38.1% to 14.3% advantage. The hosts also outrebounded the Rams, 55 to 46.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, January 15 when they visit Mount St. Mary College for a Skyline Conference contest.
