Farmingdale, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's basketball team came up on the short end of a 64-60 Skyline Conference decision with Farmingdale State College on the road on Tuesday evening.
The Golden Eagles slide to 1-4 on the season with an 0-2 mark in conference play. The Rams improve to 3-3 overall, 1-1 Skyline.
Sophomore Alyssa Signor led the Golden Eagles with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds on 8-for-12 shooting from the field.
Sophomore Megan Steinman finished with 17 points and a game-high four assists. Freshman Emma rounded out the top scorers with 10 points and two assists.
The Rams were led by Anna Zaborowska with a 23-point performance with seven rebounds and six steals. Alexis Hunter pitched in with a double-double of 16 points and 11 boards.
The Golden Eagles took a three-point lead, 49-46, into the fourth, but it was quickly erased when Zaborowska hit a triple in the opening possession of the frame. The final quarter saw three tied scores and four lead changes before Imani Butts dropped in a three with less than a minute on the clock giving the Rams the final advantage as they went to secure the 64-60 win.
FSC outshot the Golden Eagles 40.6% to 34.9% while holding a slight 44-42 rebounding edge.
St. Joseph's returns to the Danzi Center on Saturday, November 30 when they host SJC-Brooklyn at 1:00 pm.
