Lacrosse Earns ECAC Bid, Will Face Washington & Jefferson

CENTERVILLE, Mass. -- The St. Joseph's College Golden Eagles (9-8) have been selected for the 2012 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Women's Lacrosse Tournament in their inaugural season of play and will travel to Washington, Pennsylvania to face Washington & Jefferson College on Wednesday.

After finishing the regular-season with a 9-6 record, Lebanon Valley College was selected as the No. 1 seed. The tournament is a seven-team field with quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds.

Due to its top seeding, Lebanon Valley will receive a first-round bye. In quarterfinal contests on Wednesday, May 9, No. 2 Marywood University (14-3) will host No. 7 Morrisville State College (12-5) at 7:00 p.m, No. 3 Washington & Jefferson (11-3) will host No. 6 St. Joseph's-LI (9-8) at 2:00 p.m., and No. 4 Alvernia  University (9-8) will welcome No. 5 Neumann University (10-6) at 1:00 p.m.

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, May 12, at the highest remaining seed. Lebanon Valley College will face the winner of Alvernia/Neumann (Time TBD) in one semifinal, and the winner of Marywood/Morrisville will play the winner of Washington & Jefferson/St. Joseph's (2:00 p.m) in the other semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, May 13 (Time TBD), for the championship.
