Lax Tops Mt. St. Mary in Semi's to Advance to Skyline Championship Game

Patchogue, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's Golden Eagles women's lacrosse team earned their first appearance in the Skyline Conference Tournament finals as they blew past the Mt. St. Mary Knights in the semifinal round of the tournament, 14-7.

Two-seed St. Joseph's will now travel to top-seed Farmingdale State this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. to fight for the Skyline crown and the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

SJC was led by Heather Ferchland with three goals and one assist.  Scoring multiple times for the Golden Eagles were Caitlynn Webber (2 goals, 1 assist), Danielle Dittmeier (2 goals), Karalyn Tetleman (2 goals) and Tori Gregson (2 goals, 2 assists). 

Goalkeeper Courtney Wickline tallied eight saves for the home team.  Nicole Lyman totaled seven caused turnovers and ground balls in the SJC defense while Kristine Minogue also grabbed also five in both categories.  

Nicole Scicutella led the Knights with three goals and an assist.
