Lacrosse to Host Kean in First Round of ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament on Wednesday

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The St. Joseph's College women's lacrosse team has been selected as the #3-seed in this week's 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Women's Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Championship.  The Golden Eagles (13-5) will host #6-seed Kean University at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the SJC Outdoor Field Complex.  This will be St. Joseph's second appearance in the regional tournament.

The tournament is an eight-team field with a quarterfinal round followed by a semifinal and championship round.  In the first-round contests on Wednesday, May 7, Lebanon Valley will host SUNY Canton (9-4) at 6 p.m., while the second seed McDaniel College (10-8) will face No. 7 Alvernia University (9-8) at 7 p.m. at McDaniel. No. 3 St. Joseph's College - Long Island (13-5) plays Kean University (9-8) at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's and Neumann University (12-5) will take on Drew University (10-6) at 7 p.m. in the No. 4/No. 5 match-up at Neumann.

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, May 10 and will be hosted by the highest remaining seed. The winner of Lebanon Valley/SUNY Canton will face the winner of Neumann/Drew in one semifinal and the winner of McDaniel/Alvernia and the winner of St. Joseph's/Kean in the other semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, May 11 at a time to be determined for the championship at the same site.
