Ferchland's Five Goals & Wickline's 11 Saves Lead SJC Past McDaniel in ECAC Semifinal

Reading, Pa. – The third-seed St. Joseph's Golden Eagles (14-5) defeated two-seed McDaniel College in today's semifinal round of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament, 14-13.  SJC will now advance to the championship game tomorrow against top-seed Lebanon Valley on the Dutchmen's home field at 2:00 p.m.

Sophomore attack Heather Ferchland led all goal scorers with five tallies for the Golden Eagles.  Junior attack Caitlynn Webber scored three goals for SJC, while sophomore defender Kristine Minogue added two.

St. Joseph's freshman keeper Courtney Wickline saved 11 shots and junior defender Nicole Lyman topped all Eagles with five caused turnovers and four groundballs.

St. Joseph's jumped out front early as Ferchland went on an offensive outburst with three straight tallies to start the contest.  She would also score two straight for the Eagles sixth and seventh goal to increase their lead to 7-2 at the time.

SJC went into the half with an 8-5 edge over McDaniel, but the Green Terror nipped at their heels the rest of the game, however, they never came closer than one goal.
