SJC Lacrosse Slams Sage on Snowy Saturday, 19-2

Patchogue, N.Y.– St. Joseph's offense was not slowed down at all by the snowflakes as they drubbed Sage, 19-2, this afternoon at a frigid Danzi Stadium.  In the first Skyline Conference game for both teams, SJC (5-3, 1-0 SKY) outshot Sage (0-5, 0-1 SKY) 35-5 in a tilt that went into running clock time within the first twenty minutes of the opening whistle.

Opening the relentless scoring was Nicole Lyman on an assist from Meaghan Haber and the rout was on from there with six unanswered tallies in less than eight minutes into the game. 

Leading the charge for the Golden Eagles was Heather Ferchland with four goals and an assist and Caitlynn Webber, Ela Igdeler and Tricia Barrett with three each.  Igdeler led with four assists, while Graceann Fallon and Haber tallied two each.

The Golden Eagles outshot Sage 22-2 in first half with an 11-0 score.  Courtney Wickline and Katie McGarrell split time in goal for SJC.  Sage's two goals came in the second half.

St. Joseph's topped in ground balls, 15-8, and draw controls, 17-6.
