Eleven Eagles Score in Skyline Lax Mismatch vs. Mt. St. Vincent

Yonkers, N.Y. - The Lady Golden Eagles women's lacrosse team (6-2, 2-0 Skyline) records their second consecutive 19 goal game, cruising past Skyline Conference foe, the Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (1-6, 0-2 Skyline), 19-4, while outshooting them 49-to-11 Thursday afternoon at Tibbetts Brook Park.

SJC featured a well-balanced attack with midfielders Kristin Carroll (Patchogue, N.Y./ Patchogue-Medford) tallying four goals and an assist, Heather Ferchland (Selden, N.Y./ Centereach) scoring three goals with a helper, and Ela Igdeler (Islip, N.Y./ Islip) beating the Dolphin goalkeeper twice while dishing a game-high four assists. Caitlynn Webber (Eastport, N.Y./ Eastport-South Manor) led St. Joseph's attack with two scores and three dishes.

The Golden Eagle offense was explosive from the start of the tilt, scoring eight unanswered goals from eight different players through the first 15 minutes of play.

In the final minutes of the first half, St. Joseph's and Mount Saint Vincent exchanged scores as the Golden Eagles took a 10-3 lead heading into intermission.

St. Joseph's defense was impeccable throughout the second period, only allowing one goal off four shots, as their offense scored nine additional times with Igdeler and Ferchland contributing two tallies apiece.

Golden Eagle goaltender's Courtney Wickline (Medford, N.Y./ Bellport) and Katie McGarrell (Selden, N.Y./ Newfield) split time in the cage, compiling two saves each.

SJC out-scooped the home team 43-23 in ground balls, and dominated the draw circle, winning 18-to-7 in draw controls.

St. Joseph's College is looking to improve their conference record as the team heads to another away Skyline Conference match against the Farmingdale Rams (4-3, 2-0 Skyline) this Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
