Patchogue, NY|  The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-4 decision to FDU-Florham in a non-conference contest at Danzi Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss the Golden Eagles fall to 0-3 on the season as the Devils improve to 2-1.

The Devils scored the first goal of the contest and did not look back tallying seven unanswered goals to exit the first half with a 7-0 advantage.

Senior Brienna Reasoner and Joelle Manganella highlighted the first half with two goals and an assist each.

Tricia Barrett opened up the scoring in the second half scoring from a feed by Alexis Hillman at the 27:43 mark to cut SJC's deficit to six (7-1). After a slow 10 minutes, Manganella completed the hat trick at the 14:50 off the sticks from Kathleen Petrucelli.  The Devils would tack on three more goals to pull ahead of the Golden Eagles 12-1. Senior Brooke Kreuscher tallied three unanswered goals, but FDU would come out with the 12-4 win.

"This is our hardest non-conference schedule in the history of the program," St. Joseph's head coach Bob Vlahakis said. "This team has a bevy of incoming players (11 incomers), it is the perfect situation for us to find out our strength and weaknesses so we are fully prepared for conference play.

Sophomore Lindsay Ramos made eight saves on 20 shots in the loss. FDU's Megan Nemeth picked up the win and made six saves in 43 minutes of action.

Kreuscher finished the contest with three goals and Barrett contributed with one goal.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, March 11 when they host Stockton for a non-conference contest at 1:00pm. Live stats will be available here.
