Women's Lacrosse Shuts Out Old Westbury

Old Westbury, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's lacrosse team shut out Old Westbury 16-0 in a Skyline Conference matchup Tuesday afternoon at Panther Park.

The Golden Eagles improve to 6-7 on the season with a 4-2 record in conference play. The Panthers slip to 4-10 overall, 3-3 in Skyline action.

Kristin Carroll led SJC with eight points on six goals and two assists. The senior picked up two ground balls, two draw controls, and a caused turnover. Sophomore Lauryn Gregson pitched in with four goals and two assists with freshman Alexis Hillman adding three goals and three caused turnovers. Junior Nicole Stoppelli filled the stat sheet with two goals, one assist, two ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Senior Chelsea Tarazona led the SJC defense with five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Junior Samantha Caruso added three ground balls with two caused turnovers.

Goalkeeper Lindsay Ramos finished with six save with her counterpart Ashley Gugliuzzo finished with 16.

The Golden Eagles outshot the Panthers 37-10 with a 27-10 edge in ground balls.

St. Joseph's College returns to Danzi Stadium on Thursday, April 26 when they host Kean University. Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
