Grand Lake, CO| Eight members of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's lacrosse team were recognized when the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released its 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll on Monday afternoon.

Those honored on the Patchogue campus were seniors Kristin Carroll, Melanie Cervone, Maygan Forssell, Ally Johnston, Chelsea Tarazona and juniors Samantha Caruso, Lindsay Ramos and Nicole Stoppelli.

To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. In total, 639 student-athletes from 189 different institutions were honored.

Additionally, the team as a whole was named a 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for the fourth time since 2013. The 339 schools across NCAA Divisions I, II, III and the NAIA posted team GPA's over 3.0 for the 2017-18 academic year.

Among those eight selected to the individual Academic Honor Roll, Carroll, Cervone, Johnston and Tarazona are second-time honorees having earned accolades for the 2016-17 academic year.
