Lady Eagles on to Skyline Semi's with 1-0 Win Over Purchase

Patchogue, N.Y. – The #3 seeded St. Joseph's College (12-6-3) women's soccer team topped #6 Purchase College (8-10), 1-0, to advance to the Skyline Conference Tournament semifinal round this coming Wednesday against #2 Farmingdale State.  The Golden Eagles lone goal was scored by freshman Jamianne Eden (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) off a give-and-go pass from junior midfielder Samantha Garcia (Central Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) at the 67:45 mark of the game.

Junior goalkeeper Kayla Flowers (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) recorded her 11th shutout of the season as she saved two Purchase shots.  Kristy Colangelo saved four shots on net for the Panthers.  The Eagles outshot the Panthers 10 to 3.

The winner of the Skyline Tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.  Wednesday's Halloween semifinal will be played at Farmingdale State with a time still to be determined.  St. Joseph's defeated the Rams 1-0 in their regular season contest.
