Two Second Half Goals Let Eagles Soar Past Panthers

Purchase, N.Y.– A pair of goals in the second half were enough to power visiting St. Joseph's (5-4. 1-1 Skyline) to a 2-0 win over Purchase (3-6, 1-1 Skyline) on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles scored the game winning tally in the 54th minute as Jaclyn Hughes found the back of the net off assists from Jaclyn Baratlli and Kathryn Condron.

SJC added an insurance goal about 15 minutes later as Joann Murino converted on a breakaway thanks to the passing of Hughes and Jessica Cordano.

St. Joseph's keeper Cristiana Votta picked up her fourth shutout of the young season, while saving five shots on goal. The Eagles outshot Purchase 14-6.

The ladies will return to the field Monday for an afternoon contest with John Jay before returning home for a Skyline affair with Old Westbury on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
