W. Soccer's Votta Named ECAC Defensive Player of Week for Third Time

Centerville, Mass. - Women's soccer's Cristiana Votta (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) has been named the ECAC Corvias Metro Defensive Player of the Week for the thrid time this season following a week were she posted two shutouts, including one in the first round of the Skyline Conference Tournament.

This award for Votta, comes one day after being named the 2013 Skyline Conference's Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year and to the All-Skyline Second Team at the goalkeeper position.

Co-Defensive Players of the Week

Sarah Hinkle – Richard Stockton College
Senior, Goalkeeper, Mullica Hill, NJ

Hinkle helped the Ospreys record a 2-0 week of play. She notched two saves and a combined shutout during the No. 8 regionally ranked Ospreys' 3-0 NJAC victory over Rutgers-Newark. Three days later, she notched three saves in a 4-0 first-round NJAC Tournament victory over Kean. Hinkle currently ranks second in the NJAC in shutouts (9).

Cristiana Votta – St. Joseph's College (LI)
Sophomore, Goalkeeper, East Islip, NY

Votta registered a pair of shutout victories over Centenary (2-0) on Oct. 28 and Purchase (6-0) on Nov. 2. She compiled six saves against Centenary and one versus PC in the first round of the Skyline Championship.

Offensive Player of the Week

JoAnna Kettell – SUNY Old Westbury
Senior, Forward, Hauppauge, NY

Kettell amassed 17 points on five goals and seven assists with 12 shots and one game-winning goal in a 4-0 week for the Panthers. She tallied a hat trick – including the 50th goal of her career – on Oct. 31 in a 9-0 victory against NYU-Poly and scored two goals and added an assist in Old Westbury's 3-2 win over Purchase on Oct. 28.
