Rams Bowl Past Eagles on Way to Skyline Finals

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The third-seeded St. Joseph's Golden Eagles (15-6-1) fell to two-seed Farmingdale (12-9) Thursday afternoon, 3-0, in the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference Tournament.  The Eagles offense could only muster four shots on goal and 12 overall, as Farmingdale jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 8th minute and never looked back.

St. Joseph's will now await the decision of the ECAC Metro Soccer committee to see if they will be chosen for their annual tournament.  If they are picked, the first round is schedule to begin on Wednesday, November 13.

The Rams added their second goal in the final minute of the first half.  They would find the net for the final time in the 72nd minute to ice the game and earn a trip in to the Skyline Championship game on Saturday at Mt. St. Mary.  Farmingdale outshot SJC 19-12 in the contest.

Katie McGarrell (Selden, N.Y./Newfield)had three shots for the Eagles while Jennifer Martino (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) took two.  Skyline Rookie of the Year Cristiana Votta (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) made five saves for the visitors.
