SJC's Lady Eagles to Swim With Dolphins Once Again in 2013 ECAC Metro Tournament

Centerville, Mass. - The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team has been picked as the #4 seed in the 2013 ECAC Division III Metro Women's Soccer Championship tournament, which begins this Wednesday.  The Golden Eagles will face #5 College of Staten Island Dolphins in the 7:00 p.m. game at the SJC Outdoor Complex. The tournament is an eight-team field with a quarterfinal round followed by a semifinal and championship round.

Tournament Bracket

St. Joseph's (15-6-1) and Staten Island (16-2-2) last faced off on October 15 and went to a 0-0 draw in double overtime.  CSI was unbeaten at that point of the season.

St. Joseph's is 4-1-1 all-time vs. CSI. They won four in a row before a loss last year and the scoreless draw this season.

Richard Stockton College earned the tournament's top seed and will host #8 Mount Saint Vincent. In the other quarterfinal matchups, #2 Mt. St. Mary will face #7 Hartwick College, and #3 Kean University will square off with #6 Old Westbury.  

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 16 hosted by the highest remaining seed. The winner of Richard Stockton/Mount Saint Vincent will face the winner of St. Joseph's/College of Staten Island in one semifinal and the winner of Mount Saint Mary/Hartwick and the winner of Kean/SUNY College at Old Westbury in the other semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, Nov. 17 for the championship at the same site.

This will mark the sixth time the Golden Eagles have played in the ECAC Tournament.

No. 5 College of Staten Island (16-2-2) at No. 4 St. Joseph's College (LI) (15-6-1), 7 p.m.
