NYU Slips Past Women's Soccer on Rainy Night

Patchogue, N.Y. — The Golden Eagles (5-10-2) suffered a true heartbreaker Tuesday night against New York University (10-4-1).  After 68 minutes of scoreless play the Violets shot and scored with only a little over a minute left on the clock to win the game.

The Eagles weren't clicking offensively for much of night as Joann Murino (Bohemia, N.Y./ Connetquot) took SJC's only shot while NYU took a whopping 21 shots, 12 of which were on goal. Golden Eagles goalie Katie McGarrell (Selden, N.Y./ Newfield) stepped up big to keep her team in the game with an impressive 12 saves.

The Golden Eagles will host Purchase State on Saturday for an 11 a.m. Skyline match, their penultimate regular season match, which will also serve as their senior day.
