Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Stockton University on Wednesday evening in a non-conference matchup at Danzi Stadium. With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 0-4 on the season, while their NJAC opponents improve to 5-1.

The Ospreys established themselves early in the match, recording four shots in the first 14 minutes before earning the side's first corner at the 15th minute mark. Stockton continued to control the pace of the game and possessing the ball for the majority of the half.

Outshot 10-0 in the first half, the Golden Eagles entered halftime at 0-0, but failed to turn the tide in the second half. Adrianna Boucher's left-footed finish just outside the box broke the scoreless bout in the 49th minute as Stockton took a 1-0 lead. Boucher doubled her goal tally when she was on the receiving end of a scramble in the box and chipped a shot over the head of SJC's goalkeeper Sam Wedderburn. Stockton rounded out the scoring in the 70th minute after Samantha Rodrigues crossed the ball to Lindsey Thomas who one-touched it into the back of the net to down the host's 3-0.

Wedderburn's 10 saves were a game-best in a match that saw her side out-shot 23-1. Despite being out-possessed and out-shot, the Golden Eagle defense did well to keep enemy attackers to the outside and turn chances away.

St. Joseph's returns to action on Saturday, September 17 as the team will travel to Maritime in the conference opener, which is slated to begin at 11 AM.
