Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team dropped a 2-1, double overtime decision to the Sage Colleges on Saturday afternoon in a Skyline Conference matchup at Danzi Stadium. With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 2-6 (2-1) on the season, while the Gators improve to 4-4 (0-2).

A choppy first half that yielded 13 shots tilted in favor of the Gators (9-4), but it was St. Joseph's that tallied the half's first goal. Rebecca Voisich did well to evade the Gators' defense before streaking down the right side and delivering a shot that would deflect of Cassy Robatell's hands and trickle past the goal line for her first goal of the season. In the 30th minute, Cassidy Breun played a ball into the middle of the field for Samantha Trimblett who chipped it over for the equalizer.

The Golden Eagles were credited with the first three shots of the second half, but could was unable to convert early on. SJC had its best opportunity to score when Christina Gagliardi rifled a shot from the right side of the box that would hit the top of the post in the 78th minute.

Without a regulation winner, the game went to overtime—the first for St. Joseph's this season. The deciding tally would come in the second overtime session, when Taylor Lynch crossed from the right side to find a streaking Trimblett, who poked home his second goal of the evening.

The Gators carried most of the play throughout the game and outshot the Golden Eagles 19-15 in total. St. Joseph's keeper Samantha Wedderburn was credited with four saves on the evening.
Gagliardi led the Golden Eagles with eight shots. Junior Katelyn Jones again starred in backline for the hosts, while Mackenzie Nyitray also had a strong showing.
