Patchogue, NY| Sophomore Christina Gagliardi scored the equalizer and the game-winner as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team took a 4-1 decision from non-conference rival CCNY to win its second game in a row at home on Tuesday evening at Danzi Stadium. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 2-2 on the year as the Beavers suffer their first loss and slide to 2-1.

CCNY opened the scoring in the seventh minute, when Tatiana Zuluaga, streaking down the middle, played a through ball which found the foot of Amy Gomez, who flicked it over Juliana Cintron-Leonardo's head for the 1-0 lead.

After a quiet couple of minutes, SJC evened up the score in the 22nd minute when Jessica Passabile delivered a pass to Christina Gagliardi, who slotted the ball to the lower right corner for her sixth goal of the season.

Still tied 1-1 in the second half, Gagliardi gave the Golden Eagles the lead in the 49th minute when Josseline Sorto found Gagliardi, who made a run to beat two CCNY defenders and fired it over the top to record the game-winner.

Continuing to pressure the CCNY's defense, SJC found an insurance goal in the 75th minute when freshman Carly Credidio tallied her first career goal when she received a pass from Mackenzie Nyitray and beat the keeper for the open-net goal. Just 10 minutes later Credidio doubled her goal total when Rebecca Walsh lobbed the ball over the streaking freshman and banged it home to give the hosts' a three-goal advantage (4-1), which they would carry to the final buzzer.

SJC generated 28 shots to CCNY's six in the match, and held the advantage in corners, 12-5. Cintron-Leonardo was credited with three saves, while CCNY's Cathering Langkamp made 12 saves on the night.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, September 14 when they visit Stockton for a 7:00 PM non-conference showdown. Live video and stats will be available here.
