Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team suffered their first Skyline Conference defeat of the 2018 season 3-2 to Mt. St. Mary College on Saturday evening at Danzi Stadium.

The Golden Eagles slip to 4-5 on the season, 2-1 in Skyline action. The Knights improve to 8-4-1 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 4-0.

Mt. St. Mary opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Theresa Stinson pounced on a loose ball inside the box. Later in the half, the Knights doubled their lead when Chrissy Cannella blasted a free kick from just outside the box to the lower left corner in the 27th minute.

The Golden Eagles cut the deficit in half, 2-1, with just over 15 minutes left in the half when sophomore Carly Credidio sent in a long ball to junior Claire Brady who beat the MSMC keeper on a breakaway. The Knights would push the lead back to two, 3-1, when Kayla Davis followed up a rebound off Haley Murphy's initial shot just 10 minutes before the break.
