Gagliardi Scores Six in 7-2 Win over Maritime

Patchogue, NY| Senior Christina Gagliardi recorded a career-high six goals as the St. Joseph's College women's soccer team earned a 7-2 Skyline Conference win over SUNY Maritime at Danzi Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles improve to 6-3-1 on the season and remain unbeaten in Skyline Conference action with a 4-0-0 record. The Privateers even out at 4-4-0 overall, 0-1-0 Skyline.

Gagliardi opened the scoring when she finished a feed from sophomore Savannah McMaster in the 13th minute of play.

The Privateers took its only lead of the afternoon on back-to-back goals from Sara Wright that came 25 seconds apart.

Gagliardi put the Golden Eagles back on top, 3-2, with a pair of goals assisted by Abbey Curcio and Gianna Castilletti. McMaster pushed the lead to 4-2 on a breakaway goal before Gagliardi's fourth goal of the day sent the hosts into the break leading 5-2.

Curcio dished Gagliardi for the second time in the 61st minute before the senior's sixth and final goal of the day rounded out the scoring lifting the Golden Eagles to a 7-2 win.

SJC outshot the Privateers 24-6 with a 9-2 corner kick advantage.

The Golden Eagles resume Skyline Conference action on Saturday, October 6 when they travel to face Farmingdale State. Game time is slated for 12:00 pm.
