Women's Soccer Edged in Overtime

Farmingdale, NY| The St. Joseph's College women's soccer team was edged, 1-0, in overtime to Farmingdale State College on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles move to 6-4-1 on the season with a 4-1-0 mark in Skyline Conference play. The Rams improve to 6-3-1 overall, 3-0-0 Skyline.

Less than two minutes into overtime, FSC's Julissa Martinez found the back of the net securing the 1-0 win.

The Golden Eagles were outshot 29-6 in 90 minutes of regulation with goalkeeper Juliana Cintron-Leonardo recording 12 saves.

SJC created a scoring opportunity just about midway through the first half when Karissa Rutigliano's shot was saved by FSC's keeper Daniella Ford and Christina Gagliardi's follow-up went wide.

St. Joseph's was held to just two shots in the second half with one corner kick opportunity

The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, October 6 when they travel for a non-conference contest with FDU-Florham. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
