Kim Scalzo Named New Women’s Swim Team Coach
Patchogue, N.Y. – St. Joseph's College-Long Island is pleased to announce the hiring of Kim Scalzo as the head coach of the women's swim team.
Scalzo was a member of the Three Village Swim Club for eight years. While with the team, she qualified for Junior Olympics, Senior Mets and the Empire State Games. She was also a member of the Ward Melville High School varsity swim team for three years, where she attended states and was awarded All-County and All-League honors.
Scalzo began teaching swimming at the age of 14 and started coaching in 1999. Before joining Islanders Aquatics, where she is currently employed, she coached for the Three Village, North Shore and Sachem Swim Clubs.
After high school, Coach Scalzo went to Suffolk County Community College for criminal justice and theater.
Currently a Centereach resident, Scalzo is dedicated to teaching the technique and drive needed for her swimmers to have long successful swimming careers.
