Women’s Swimming Topples Maritime, Loses to Mt. St. Mary on Friday

Throggs Neck, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team split a Skyline Conference double-duel at SUNY Maritime on Friday evening after earning a 107-.5-86.5 victory over the Privateers and taking a 129-67 loss to Mt. St. Mary College.

Freshman Samantha Mullman collected a pair of first-place finishes at the meet, posting a time of 26.65 in the 50 yard freestyle and later a 58.51 in the 100 yard freestyle.

Picking up second-place finishes were freshman Aileen Baker in the 200 yard freestyle (2:13.06), senior Gabrielle Zollo in the 100 yard butterfly (1:09.40) and the 200 yard freestyle relay team Catherine Peralta, Marissa Palmeri, Lorraine Diehl and Julianne Garvey (1:55.05).

Senior Kimberly Mazza picked up third-place finishes in the 200 yard IM (2:34.91) and the 500 yard freestyle (6:07.27).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, December 9 when they host both SUNY Old Westbury and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for a Skyline Conference double-duel at 6:00 PM. Full post-meet recap will be available here at sjcgoldeneagles.com following the action.
