Women’s Swimming Takes Losses to Sarah Lawrence, Maritime on Friday

Bronxville, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team was handed a pair of losses by Sarah Lawrence College, 133-50, and SUNY Maritime, 125-64, in a Skyline Conference double-duel in Bronxville, NY on Friday evening.

With the losses, the Golden Eagles slide to 1-2 in conference action and 3-2 on the season.

Sophomore Aileen Baker scored SJC's first points of the evening with a third-place performance in the 1,000 yard freestyle (13:01.85) and later earned the same finish in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 29.04.

Also earning third-place finishes were seniors Julie Garvey (2:37.90) and Marissa Palmeri (6:38.58), who competed in the 200 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle, respectively.

Freshman Bella Peralta and Baker fared best on the evening with second-place finishes in the 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard backstroke, respectively.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, December 1 when they host non-conference opponent York College inside the Danzi Center Pool at 6:00 pm.
