Women’s Swimming Beats Old Westbury, Loses to USMMA on Friday

Old Westbury, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team earned a split at a Skyline Conference double-duel on Friday evening defeating SUNY Old Westbury 113-68 and dropping a 120-64 decision to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Sophomore Samantha Mullman recorded SJC's only individual first-place finishes on the evening having won the 50 yard free (26.63) and 100 yard free (59.85) competitions.

Senior Marissa Palmeri placed third in a pair of races, first in the 1,000 yard free (13:36.74) and later in the 200 yard breaststroke (3:08.94).

Third-place finishes were also had by sophomore Aileen Baker (2:18.10) and junior Catherine Peralta (6:40.46) in the 200 yard free and the 500 yard free, respectively.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, December 9 when they host St. Joseph's College (Brkln) inside the Danzi Center for a non-conference meet at 4:00 pm.
