Women's Swimming Tops Purchase, Old Westbury on Saturday
Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team picked up a pair of victories over SUNY Purchase (112-57) and SUNY Old Westbury (128-23) in a Skyline Conference double-duel in the Danzi Center pool on Saturday afternoon.
SJC opened the afternoon with a first-place finish as the 200 yard medley relay team of Bella Peralta, Meghan Skakandi, Julianna Kohlus and Aileen Baker took the top spot with a time of 2:09.38.
Kohlus would go on to take first in the 100 yard freestyle (12:30.98) and the 100 yard butterfly (1:08.28) while Emma Martin finished tops in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 28.89.
Breanna Daly won the 200 yard IM (2:56.44) and Baker was first in the 500 yard freestyle. Other first place finishes were had by Martin in the 100 yard freestyle (1:10.12) and Jordyn Cummings in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:25.65).
SJC wrapped the afternoon with a victory in the 200 yard freestyle relay (2:09.90). The team consisted of Jeana Prentice, Cummings, Daly and Baker.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, November 15 when they visit Sarah Lawrence College for a Skyline Conference double-duel with the Gryphons and SUNY Maritime.
