Baruch Edges Women's Swimming on Monday

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's swimming team was edged, 93-90, by Baruch College in a non-conference dual meet inside the Danzi Center Pool on Monday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles started the meet strong when they 400-yard medley relay team of Marisa Tutone, Meghan Skakandi, Julianna Kohlus and Samantha Mullman broke the program record in the event with a time of 4:30.02. 

In the meet's second event, the 1,000-yard freestyle, Aileen Baker and Isabella Peralta took second and third, respectively, with times of 13:24.61 and 13:33.60. 

Mullman then took first place in the 50-yard freestyle (27.42) and Kohlus followed suit in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.62). 

Skakandi placed first in the 500-yard freestyle (6:02.27) and was a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that wrapped the afternoon with a time of 4:06.17 and a first-place finish.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, January 25 when they compete at the 2020 Skyline Conference Swimming Championships at the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
