Oneonta St. Snaps Women’s Tennis Three-Game Win Streak

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Monday night, as they suffered a 9-0 loss to Oneonta St. at home. With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 7-3 on the season, while the Red Dragons improve to 9-3.

Samantha Felice and Faith Haedrich took the first point for Oneonta defeating Erika Hesselbirg and Nora Burnett in an 8-4 loss at the third court. Kayla Houle and Kaitlin Ferrara doubled the lead for the Red Dragons winning their match 8-4 over Emily Portal and Kerri McMahon. Jacqueline Guidice and Danielle Swierczyna completed the doubles sweep after edging out Amanda Post and Victoria Panicola 8-6.

The Red Dragons continued to dominate over at the singles court inching a point closer to victory after Felice took down Nora Burnett 6-1, 6-0. Guidice sealed the win for Oneonta after defeating Post in #1 singles 6-0, 6-1.

The Golden Eagles return to Skyline action on Saturday October 8, when they welcome sister-school St. Joseph's College (Brklyn) to Patchogue, NY at 12:00 PM.
