Women's Tennis Blanks Purchase 9-0 on Saturday Afternoon

Purchase, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team swept the Purchase College Panthers, 9-0, in a Skyline Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles improved to 8-3 (5-1 Skyline) on the year, while the Panthers move to 4-7 (2-3 Skyline).

The tandem of  Nora Burnett and Lindsey Charrier earned the first point for St. Joseph's winning their set over Cailey McKenna and Abigail Cuddy, 8-2. The powerful duo of Kerri McMahon and Emily Portal took down Catherine Pasquale and Caroline Haldeman at the number two court 8-3. SJC concluded the doubles sweep after an 8-4 win by Amanda Post and Victoria Paniola.

Lindsey Charrier picked up her first collegiate singles win 6-4, 6-2 over Nadia Shadi to increase the Golden Eagles lead 4-0.

Emily Portal sealed the win for the St. Joseph's after her fifth court singles win 6-1,6-1 over Tara Persaud.

The Golden Eagles will conclude the regular when they take on sister school St. Joseph's College (Brklyn), a date is yet to be announced.
