Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's tennis team wrapped its 2017 regular season with a 5-4 win over Brooklyn College in Sunday's Senior Day game.

The win ensures the Golden Eagles, who clinched the second seed in the Skyline Conference championship, finish the year with a 10-2 overall mark.

Alana Caporale and Lindsey Charrier opened the afternoon with a dominating 8-0 victory at second doubles and paved the way for Nora Burnett and Caroline Mandaro at third doubles to give SJC a 2-0 lead with a win by the same scoreline.

Brooklyn's win at first singles brought the match score back to within one (2-1) heading into singles action, but SJC would go up 4-1 after Erin Hickey and Caporale won their sixth and third singles match-ups, respectively.

First, second and fourth singles would go to the Bulldogs, but Mandaro's come-from-behind 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory at fifth singles clinched the 5-4 match victory for the hosts.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday, October 18 when they host Mount St. Mary College in the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference championship. Match begins at 5:00 pm at the Outdoor Field Complex.
